California film producers have recently completed promotional films of the lives and insights of David A. Leffel and Sherrie McGraw. Following many months of planning, filming and editing, the videos were recently released.
This spring, at the Portrait Society of America in Atlanta, Georgia, David’s film debuted. Prior to his demonstration, it was released to 800 guests where it received an outstanding ovation. During the Fechin Art Workshops, Sherrie’s film was previewed by students who were also resoundingly enthusiastic.
In May, during the Fechin Art Workshops in Taos, New Mexico, David A. Leffel and Sherrie McGraw conducted simultaneous demonstrations at the Harwood Museum. Sharing the stage for the first time in their careers, they created a memorable evening, focusing on light, shadow and edges. Details of David’s still life and Sherrie’s portrait were projected on large screens for optimal viewing.
High definition footagage from this event has been compiled into one DVD. It includes close up filming of brush strokes accompanied by their important instruction. A voiceover by David and Sherrie concludes the film, providing reflections on their experience. Copies are available to purchase through this website, workshops and upcoming events.
