Jeff Legg studied painting and drawing at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and also Atelier Lack, a private art studio school modeled after 15th to 19th century classical European instruction. His “old master” techniques combined with inspired contemporary use of chiaroscuro engage fellow artists and collectors world wide.

Today, Legg’s artwork is represented by some of the nation’s most important galleries. He is an Oil Painters of America Master painter and a nationally recognized award winning artist. In 2012 he received the coveted Gold Medal at the Oil Painters of America National Exhibition in the Masters division, OPA’s highest honor. His paintings have been featured in numerous publications such as American Artist, North Light books, Art of the West, Western Art Collector, American Art Collector, Fine Art Connoisseur and was featured on the cover of Southwest Art Magazine.

His work has also been exhibited in many museum shows including the Gilcrease Museum, The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum and the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. Having painted full time for almost 25 years, Mr. Legg’s work can be seen in collections throughout the United States and Europe. Among his most distinguished collectors is the late astronaut Neil Armstrong.

Mr. Legg resides in the Northwest Arkansas Ozark mountains where he paints daily in his studio.

“I must diligently search my heart to find out what really moves and captivates me. Truth is the essential ingredient in making art. The human soul is hopelessly bound to express it.” —Jeff Legg
